Red is a fully modular, open-source Discord bot developed by a large community. It offers moderation, admin tools, music, games, and much more – all extensible through so-called "Cogs" (modules). Red is released under the GPL-3.0 license and is one of the most popular open-source projects for Discord.
Yes! Red is a 100% open-source project hosted on GitHub. The entire source code is publicly available and actively developed by the community. You can review the code at any time.
What exactly does Red Bot Hosting offer?
We provide professional managed hosting for the Red Discord Bot. This means you get your own Red Bot running on our secure infrastructure in Germany – without having to worry about server administration, updates, or maintenance. We handle all of that for you.
How secure is my bot with you?
Security is our top priority. Each bot runs in an isolated environment (container), so no bot can access another bot's data. All connections are encrypted, and our servers are regularly updated and monitored.
Is the service GDPR compliant?
Yes, fully. Our servers are located in Germany, and all data is processed and stored within the EU. You can request a copy of your data or request account deletion at any time – all through your settings. We do not share data with third parties.
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored exclusively on servers in Germany. This includes both your account data and your bot's configuration and data. We do not use any servers outside the EU.
Is my Discord Bot Token secure?
Your bot token is stored encrypted and is not visible to us or any other users. It is only used to connect your bot to Discord. You can reset your token at any time in the Discord Developer Portal.
What is the uptime guarantee?
We guarantee 99.95% availability. Our infrastructure is designed for high availability with automatic failover. In the unlikely event of an outage, affected bots are automatically restarted.
What are Cogs and which ones do I get?
Cogs are the modules that give your Red Bot its capabilities – for example moderation, welcome messages, or a leveling system. All 18 cogs are included in every plan. You can find a detailed overview on our cogs page.
Can't I just host Red myself?
Of course! Red is open source and you can install it on your own server at any time. Our service is designed for those who don't want to or can't run their own server, and prefer a pre-configured, secure, and maintenance-free solution.
What support do you offer?
Depending on your plan, we offer community support, email support, or priority support. We're happy to help with technical issues related to your bot. For general Red Bot questions, we also recommend the official Red community.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period. There is no minimum term and no hidden fees. After cancellation, your bot will be stopped and your data will be deleted according to our privacy policy.
